School board to meet

The Mtn. View-Birch Tree R-III School District Board of Education will meet on Thursday, February 15 at 6 p.m. at the Mtn. View Elementary Library.

The meeting will begin with a school calendar hearing at 6 p.m. During this time the proposed calendar will be presented and reviewed. Superintendent Dr. Don Christensen will respond to any questions about the proposed calendar.

Immediately following, the regular board meeting will begin. Items on the agenda include:

Approval of last month’s board meeting minutes; approval of payment of monthly bills and monthly administrative/principal reports. The board will then hear Mtn. View Elementary Student Time and a report from the MSBA Board Delegate. Before new business is discussed the board will hear and insurance update on the school bus, middle school phone system, well house, storage building and track surface along with an update on MOREnet Connectivity/Wiring.

New business for the meeting will include:

Items extracted from consent agenda; payment related to individuals related to board members; monthly financial report and budget amendments; proposed 2018-2019 school calendar; speech therapist options; MSBA full maintenance agreement.

Other items on the agenda will be a special programs report including special education report, English  Language Learners (ELL) report and a homeless report.

Before moving into closed session the board will hear principals report on each of their buildings.
