Troyce Don Jones was born January 29, 1941 in Birch Tree, Missouri to Walter and Jennie (Holmes) Jones. He passed away peacefully at his home near Rockbridge, Missouri on March 28, 2018.

Troyce was united in marriage to Mariann Miller in 1963 and to this union one daughter, Julie, was born in 1976.

Troyce is survived by his beloved friends, Butch and Dawn Stone (Ava), Jack and Florice Pearce (Cabool), daughter Julie, nephew Mike Jones (Alton), and his cherished fur babies Corgi, Poo, and Cleo.

Troyce grew up in Birch Tree, Missouri, graduating from Birch Tree High School in 1959. He received a B.S. in mathematics at Southwest Missouri State in 1962 and a M.S. in applied mathematics at Missouri School of Mines in 1963.

Troyce worked as a Senior Research Scientist in health and biological sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee from 1963 until his retirement in 1999. Through his research he described biological, chemical, and radiological mathematical models in order to optimize medical therapeutic protocols. His work provided many opportunities to travel, including a year of research in Japan, a month at the University of Naples, a NATO meeting in England, and weeks in several European countries.

During his younger years, Troyce was an avid weight lifter, a 2nd degree Karate black belt, an avid fisherman (he spent many splendid hours on the lakes), a hunter, and a lover of the great outdoors. When Troyce retired he moved to his little patch of heaven near Rockbridge, Missouri on Bryant Creek. There he hand-built his beautiful home and restored the land to native grasses and natural habitats. From his beautiful home he relished the gatherings of his beloved friends and always provided them with thought-provoking discussions, good food, and entertainment from his faithful dogs.

Troyce will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on through the deep compassion and love he instilled in his friends.

No services are planned at this time. Mr. Jones was cremated under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. To send an online condolence, please go to www.evansfh.com.
