Deadly two-vehicle accident on Highway 60 in Mtn. View

A two-vehicle accident on Highway 60 ended tragically as one driver reportedly died on impact. The accident occurred on Monday, December 11 at 4:02 p.m. According to reports from the Mtn. View Police Department a 2008 Ford Escape, operated by Ivena G. Holden, 57 of Mtn. View was traveling on Highway 60 when she reportedly crossed the center lane and struck a 2015 GMC Sierra operated by Tracy L. Crider, 45 of Eminence. Howell County Coroner Tim Cherry confirmed the death at the scene of Holden and took her body from the scene. The driver of vehicle two, Tracy Crider, was transported to Cox with serious injuries, the front passenger, Mary Smotherman, 64 of Birch Tree was air lifted to Cox with critical injuries, the driver side rear passenger, Hailey Hugg, 17 of Birch Tree had serious injuries and was taken to OMC, the rear passenger, Mattison Crider, 18 of Eminence was transported to Cox with serious injuries. It was reported that due to the severity of her injuries, Hugg was later transported to a Springfield hospital.  The accident was investigated by Cpl. Trenton Roberts and Chief Jamie Perkins with the Mountain View Police Department.
